The V All-Russian scientific conference "The place of religion in a secular society" has started its work in Kazan.
The conference is organized by the Centre of researches of the Quran and Sunnah of the Republic of Tatarstan in cooperation with the Religious Board of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan. The event is part of the action plan of the Group of strategic vision "Russia-Islamic world", chaired by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
The conference participants will discuss such topics as the role, place and position of religion in modern secular society.
In particular, the agenda of the conference includes:
- a detailed examination of the place of religion in secular society, its state of nowadays;
- revealing the difference between the position of religion in secular society, the state in modern society from its position in the recent past;
- analysis of the objective reasons that led to a change of the place of religion in a modern secular society;
- assessment of the causes of conflicts of a religious nature arising in modern secular society and ways of their solution;
The main purpose of the conference is to develop recommendations to the Muslim community as an integral part of the modern global community in the process of its integration to multi-component secular society and its functioning.
The conference is attended by religious and secular experts from Kazan, Moscow, Ufa, Makhachkala, Derbent, Sevastopol, etc.
