Putin: Russia can still "catch a cold" at the funeral of its enemies

Russia is not going to "fade out" and can still "catch a cold at the funeral" of those who predict its fate. This was announced on Thursday by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the meeting of the discussion club "Valdai".

He noted that after the disappearance of the USSR some people tried to "write off" Russia, but stressed that the Russian Federation objectively assesses its capabilities - intellectual, territorial, economic and military.

"And, strengthening our country, looking at what is happening in the world, in other countries, I would like to say to those who are still waiting for the gradual fading of Russia: in this case we are only concerned about one thing - how not to catch a cold at your funeral,"  Putin said.

As the RF President stated, the participation of international structures in politicized campaigns concerning particular countries discredits these institutions themselves, aggravating the crisis of the world order.

"And it is very depressing when solid international structures, motivated by someone's selfish interests, get involved in politicized campaigns against specific leaders and countries. Such practice only discredits such institutions, leads to their decline and aggravates the crisis of the world order," he said.

Not all international organizations fulfill their missions and tasks, the president stressed. "Called to be impartial arbitrators, they often act on the basis of ideological prejudices, fall under the strong influence of other states, become an instrument in their hands," Putin noted. - Juggling procedures, manipulation of prerogatives and powers, bias, especially when it comes to conflicts involving rival powers or groups of states, has unfortunately become a common practice".
