The threat of a new coronavirus infection has not yet receded, the Russian authorities are ready for any development of the situation. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the meeting with State Duma party faction leaders, which took place on Tuesday via videoconference.


"The threat is not over, and the virus is still with us. But we are ready for any situation development. We will act in a clear and coordinated way," the head of state emphasized.


He assured that the authorities will help the citizens, support social sphere and healthcare system. "I am sure that such decisions will always find understanding and support in you, in all Duma factions," Putin said.


The President added that he is aware of the difficult situation with the coronavirus in the State Duma itself. He noted that among deputies there are those who are ill, and the State Duma continues to work.


The Head of State separately thanked parliamentarians for "hard, effective work, including in difficult conditions of coronavirus epidemic".


"It is important that the legislative process was not disrupted," he said. - On the contrary, acting ahead of the curve, the Parliament adopted dozens of urgent laws that people were waiting for".
