The forces and means of the Black sea fleet began tracking the actions of the US Navy's Franklin Roosevelt destroyer, which entered the Black sea on Tuesday. This was reported in the National Defense Management Center (NDMC) of the Russian Federation.

"Direct monitoring of the actions of the destroyer is carried out by the frigate Admiral Essen," the center said.

The US Navy's sixth fleet said on Tuesday that the destroyer Franklin Roosevelt began a northward passage to the Black sea on September 15 to conduct Maritime security operations with NATO allies and partners in the region.

The Navy report noted that the American ship enters the Black sea for the sixth time since the beginning of 2020. In July, the destroyer Porter entered the region as part of the Sea Breeze 2020 naval exercise.

On Monday, the Russian NDMC informed that the Baltic fleet forces are monitoring the actions of the USS Ross guided-missile destroyer, which entered the Baltic sea on September 13.
