The FSB detained a citizen of Central Asia who was preparing a terrorist attack in one of the government buildings in the capital region, the FSB Public Relations Center reported TASS on Thursday.
"The Federal Security Service has prevented a terrorist attack in the capital region. As a result of the measures taken, a native of the Central Asian region born in 1999 was detained, who was preparing for a terrorist act in one of the buildings of the authorities with the use of an improvised explosive device, on the instructions of militants of international terrorist organizations," the FSB reported.
Components of an improvised explosive device were found and seized in a cache equipped by a terrorist, as well as correspondence with the militants discussing the planned terrorist attack, online instructions for the production of explosives, videotape of his so-called oath to the leaders of the terrorists. "In the future, the criminal was planning to travel to a combat zone in the Middle East to participate in terrorist groups," the FSB said.
A criminal case has been stirred up and investigations are in progress.
