Russian President Vladimir Putin called the elected head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, an experienced and effective person with a professional team, the head of state said this on Thursday at a meeting via video conference with the elected heads of the Russian regions.
"Rustam Nurgalievich (Minnikhanov - ed. TASS), you are a very experienced and very effective person. Your team is professional, but we really face serious challenges. I hope that you will continue to work with full dedication, just as you did in previous years. I know how interested you are in solving the problems facing the Republic, and with what effect," Putin said.
Minnikhanov thanked Putin for his trust and support for the region's initiatives and projects.
"Of course, you were right saying that the election campaign was held in a difficult time - both the pandemic and the economic situation. But I would like to thank you in particular for the decisions taken and the government's quick actions in supporting systemic enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, and the self-employed. But the most important thing is the support of those segments of the population who needed it. This was very well received by the population and allowed us to conduct the election campaign with dignity," he said.
According to Minnikhanov, the national goals set by Putin speak about the quality of life of the population. He assured the President of the Russian Federation that Tatarstan will actively and promptly implement all projects, cope with issues related to the pandemic, as well as other challenges.
"I want to thank you again for your support and assure you that we, the members of your team, will do everything for the development of our territories and for the development of our country," the President of Tatarstan said.
