The former head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov said that he is ready to return to the Republic and as a paramedic to help in the fight against the coronavirus, TASS writes.

"If today planes were flying to Russia, I, as a paramedic, would fly to my native Dagestan and fight with Dagestanis, with Dagestani doctors," Abdulatipov wrote in particular on his Instagram account, specifying that he is currently in Mecca (Saudi Arabia).

He compared the current situation in Dagestan with the period when the Republic was fighting banditry and terrorism.

"The situation today is such that it is necessary to restore stability in the Republic again and think <...> first of all about saving the life of every Dagestani. It is necessary to drop everything and unite in the fight against the coronavirus, as we rallied at the beginning of 2013 in the fight against banditry and terrorism, defeating it," Abdulatipov said.

Ramazan Abdulatipov headed Dagestan from January 2013 to October 2017. In 1966, he graduated from Buynaksk medical school on specialty "medical assistant" in the years 1965-1966 he worked as head of the medical point in Tsumilukh.

In Dagestan, according to the latest data, 3,643 cases of the coronavirus have been recorded. 2266 people recovered and 36 died.
