Dagestan intends to supply rice to Egypt

A rice-growing enterprise in Dagestan is increasing its capacity to start supplying products to Egypt. According to TASS, "Niva" OOO started the construction of an elevator for 40 thousand tons in the village of Sar-Sar in Kizlyar district.


"We are currently negotiating the supply of rice to Egypt, for which we need to increase the volume to 7 thousand tons. Last year, we received 10 thousand tons of raw material. In connection with the increase in the area of 200 hectares this year, we expect to increase the harvest, for deliveries to Egypt, we need to build additional rice checks," the Agency quotes, in particular, the General Director of the enterprise Zagidin Kasumov.


Now, as noted, the farm supplies rice to countries such as Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, as well as to the regions of Russia. The company plans to open trading houses in southern Dagestan, Derbent, Izberbash, Makhachkala, Khasavyurt and other cities.


Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan reported that farmers of the Republic in 2019 collected a record harvest for the last 32 years - more than 97 thousand tons of rice.
