22 April 2020

Today, the plane with 228 Russians arrived in Makhachkala from Saudi Jeddah. They were unable to leave the Kingdom due to the cancellation of international flights.

"The UTair plane from Jeddah with 228 passengers has already landed, all in normal mode. Most of the passengers are Dagestanis, and there are residents of other regions of the North Caucasus Federal district: Chechnya and Ingushetia. Almost all of them are pilgrims who were detained in Saudi Arabia after performing the Umrah , and students of educational institutions," TASS reports, in particular, with reference to the press service of the Makhachkala airport.

All passengers of the flight, as noted, will be examined by specialists of Rospotrebnadzor, after which they will be sent for 14-day isolation to a health center, located near the airport in Manaskent village of Karabudakhkent district.

Due to the pandemic, Russia completely stopped regular and charter international flights since March 27. Only special flights to evacuate passengers home are allowed.
