Russian military police battalion returned from Syria to Dagestan

The Russian military police battalion returned from Syria to a motorized rifle brigade in Dagestan. The military was on a business trip to Syria.

 

“About 300 troops of the Southern Military District returned home after successfully completing special tasks in the territory of the SAR. The Il-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Air Force were delivered to the military airfield in North Ossetia”, the press service of the Southern Military District told journalists.

 

The press service explained that military police officers in Syria were guarding facilities of Russian troops, ensuring law and order and safety of civilians in the liberated settlements.

 

All incoming soldiers have passed coronavirus tests and are quarantined at a specialized isolation camp. Tests showed no COVID-19 in all battalion members.
