10 April 2020

The Muftiate of Dagestan asked the residents of the Republic to pray at home and not to come to the Friday prayer to the mosque due to the threat of the spread of the coronavirus.

"Dear brothers, in order to avoid contracting a coronavirus infection that has spread all over the world, we ask you to perform all prayers at home. We also ask you not to come to the Friday prayer to the mosque, but to perform the afternoon prayer at home. In particular, we ask the imams to limit the performance of Juma namaz to a small number of people – no more than 40 people in one mosque," the statement of the religious organization reads.

Meanwhile, according to the Republican Rospotrebnadzor, over the past day, the number of people infected with coronavirus in Dagestan increased by 13 people to 57.

The Republic has a special regime of general self-isolation. Residents of the Republic are forbidden to leave their homes without a serious reason.
