08 November 2022

The demand of Russians for flights to Istanbul during November holidays decreased by almost three times compared to the same period of 2021, while the demand for air tickets to Dubai has tripled. This is stated in the results of research by OneTwoTrip travel planning service  (text of the document is available to TASS).

"Most often Russians booked flights to Istanbul, which accounted for 11% of all international destinations - it is interesting that over the year the popularity of the city has decreased almost three times. Dubai was in second place: there are almost as many flights as to Turkey - 10.6%, but it is three times more than in 2021", say the experts.

Flights to Yerevan, Almaty and Astana were also in high demand during the November holidays. At the same time the demand for Yerevan tickets decreased 30% over the year, while the demand for Almaty tickets grew 3.5 times.

According to the service, 84% of its clients have purchased tickets to Russian directions. Among them, Moscow (33% of total bookings), St. Petersburg (14.3%) and Sochi (8.1%) took the largest share. Russians also flew to Kazan, Caucasian Mineralnye Vody, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Makhachkala, Samara and Ufa. Demand for flights to Samara (2.5 times) and St. Petersburg (1.5 times) has grown most of all.

OneTwoTrip recorded the highest number of hotel bookings in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Adler, Kazan, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Estosadok and Nizhny Novgorod.
