Russia and Iran will soon discuss banking cooperation

Russian and Iranian officials will soon hold a meeting on the topic of banking and financial cooperation, the sides are in constant contact, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said in an interview with TASS.


"As for banking and financial cooperation, banking officials of the two countries are in constant contact with each other. A face-to-face meeting between officials of the two countries is scheduled in the near future to solve possible problems," he said.


He added that the sides are also trying to agree on holding a meeting of a joint commission on economic cooperation, where new decisions will be made. According to the ambassador, Russia and Iran are mutually planning official visits to discuss cooperation in different areas.


"In order to achieve mutual understanding between the presidents of the two countries, we must witness the exchange of various delegations at all levels. Therefore, both sides mutually plan visits of officials of the two countries in all directions, including political, economic and cultural spheres," Jalali added.


According to the ambassador, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's visit to Moscow in January was a turning point in the two countries' relations. "I believe that this trip was a turning point in the relations, and the two presidents consulted and exchanged views on various issues in all areas, and valuable results were achieved," he concluded.
