Russian-UAE trade turnover reached $9 bln in 2022

Trade between Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2022 increased by 68% to $9 billion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov told reporters on the sidelines of IDEX 2023 in Abu Dhabi.


According to Manturov, exports from Russia to the UAE amounted to $8.5 billion (+71%) and imports to $500 million (+6%).


"The partnership between our countries is growing, and this positive dynamics is reflected in the statistics of Russia-UAE trade. According to our data, in 2022 trade turnover between Russia and the UAE rose by 68% to $9 billion, which is a record level in the history of relations between our countries. <...> The UAE retained the first place among the countries of the Arab world in terms of trade turnover with the Russian Federation," he said.


As previously reported, trade turnover between Moscow and the United Arab Emirates exceeded $1.1 billion in 2021, an increase of 116% compared to 2020. At the same time, the total trade turnover between Russia and the UAE in 2021 was $5.36 billion, 64.5% higher than in 2020.


The International Defense Exhibition IDEX 2023 will be held in Abu Dhabi from February 20 to 24. The combined Russian exposition is located in a separate pavilion, where the leading enterprises of the Russian defense industry complex present more than 200 full-scale samples of weapons and military equipment, ammunition and equipment.
