Travels to Egypt have fallen in price due to falling transfer costs

Tour operators have reduced prices for tours to Egypt, it happened due to cheaper transfers to the resorts, ATOR reports.

"Not so long ago there was a decrease in the cost of land transfers from Cairo to the Red Sea resorts," says Ekaterina Gorskaya, head of the Egypt department of the tour operator company. - "If before their cost was $270, now it has fallen to $150 per car for one to three people one way."

She explained that due to the fall in price on the road the cost of a tour package with a flight through Cairo has become much more attractive to tourists.

The company notes that after the transfer price went down, demand for Egypt increased.

"Tourists for many years before the terrorist attack with the Russian airliner used to fly direct charter programs to resorts, - explains Ekaterina Gorskaya. - And now most of them are not willing to spend seven or eight hours to move from Cairo to the coast - it certainly limits the number of those wishing to rest in the country as a whole. But due to the fact that many destinations are closed, trips to Egypt through the capital of the country are now selling well".

Only a decrease in the cost of airfare may stimulate the package tour through Cairo. Since February 5, the number of weekly flights to Cairo has increased, but, according to experts, it has not yet led to a reduction in ticket prices.
