The United Arab Emirates are interested in increasing the supply of meat from Dagestan. The parties plan to cooperate in tourism and culture, UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Mohammed Ahmed Sultan Essa Al Jaber said on Wednesday during his visit to the region.

"We can talk about projects that we can implement together - projects in the field of agriculture. As my colleagues noted, Dagestan exports meat to the UAE. I hope that we will work to increase the number," noted Al Jaber.

According to the head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov, the republic plans to adopt best practices from the UAE in the field of tourism.

"The UAE is a recognized world leader in tourism and creating conditions for tourists. We would like to be consulted on the creation of tourist hubs, such as the Emirates have, to consider issues of service, maintenance and management of those tourist clusters, which we propose to create in Dagestan. It's a great experience, which we should adopt from those countries, perspective in this direction", said Melikov.

According to him, the region plans to cooperate with partners from the UAE on creating educational institutions for work and service in tourism.

As Melikov earlier reported, the republic is one of the leaders in cattle breeding development in the country. Meat supplies from Dagestan to other regions of Russia and abroad amount to about 15 thousand tons per year.
