Relations between Russia and Turkey are cooperative, but this does not mean that there are no differences in positions between the countries, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu attended the Crimea Platform summit the day before at the invitation of Kiev. There he said that the initiative would play an important role in the return of the peninsula to Ukraine.
"The Crimean issue belongs to the area of significant disagreements. We do not accept this position of our Turkish colleagues, we think it is absolutely wrong," the spokesman for the Russian president said.
He stressed that Russia will continue to patiently explain to its Turkish colleagues "the real state of affairs with this Russian region."
Peskov earlier called the forum an anti-Russian and "extremely unfriendly" event.
Crimea became a Russian region after the March 2014 referendum there. Ukraine still considers it its own, but temporarily occupied territory. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the issue of Crimea is "closed completely".
