The Kremlin prefers to pause and wait for clarity before commenting on the results of the US elections, Dmitry Peskov, presidential spokesperson for Vladimir Putin said.

"Of course, now the summing up of the election results in the USA and the current situation does not give us an opportunity to comment on it somehow; in this case, of course, we prefer to take a pause and wait for some clarity in what is happening," Peskov told reporters.

On Tuesday, the US presidential elections were held in the country. The voting results in some states are still unknown. Trump announced his victory on Wednesday night and accused the Democrats of trying to "steal the election". The election headquarters of the incumbent president intends to demand a recount of votes. At the same time, according to the calculations of the leading American TV channels, Biden is in the lead, he needs to get the votes of six electors for the final victory.
