08 April

The presentation of the Russian pavilion at Expo-2020 was held on Wednesday in Dubai at the Russia Creates forum. The event was attended by Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexei Gruzdev and Chief International Participants Officer at Expo-2020 Omar Shehadeh.

The pavilion of the Russian Federation will be one of the largest at this global exhibition, and its theme will be “Creative Intelligence: Shaping the Future”.

“Our exposition will demonstrate how creative intelligence manifests in every sphere of human life”, Alexei Gruzdev highlighted. “Russia is open, innovative, and creative; Russia can make a significant contribution to the future development [of the world].” According to him, cultural and business programs have also been planned as part of Expo-2020. The programs will feature such topics as medicine, innovations and creative economy. The Deputy Minister is convinced that the exhibition “will be held at the highest level”.

Viktoria Lopyreva, Ambassador of the Russian pavilion at Expo-2020 noted in her interview with TASS that the exhibition would provide an opportunity “to show the world how talented and creative people live in Russia”. Any international events are also a driver of tourism development. When residents of the UAE and other countries of the Middle East visit the Russian pavilion and become guests of our events [within the framework of Expo-2020], they will definitely have an interest in visiting Russia”, she said.

Earlier, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, who heads the organizing committee of the Russian participation, noted that Russia had received one of the best sites at Expo-2020 – “literally in front of the entrance”. Its area will exceed 4,5 thousand square meters. The pavilion will be a unique spherical structure with a height of more than 25 meters.

Expo-2020 was postponed until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event will take place from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. This is the largest international exhibition with more than 170 countries exhibiting every five years in the fields of science, technology, architecture and art.
