The UAE and Russia are working on the possibility of increasing the number of flights from Russian cities due to the growing number of those wanting to spend their vacations in the Emirates. This was reported to TASS by the UAE Ambassador in Moscow, Mohammed Ahmed al-Jaber.


According to him, at the moment, in addition to Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russian citizens can travel to the Emirates from Rostov-on-Don, Mineralnye Vody, Kazan, Samara, Yekaterinburg and Makhachkala.


"Tourist flow from Russia to the UAE has increased, especially in the last month. The issue of increasing the number of direct flights between Russia and the UAE is always being worked out by both sides, especially since the number of Russian citizens wishing to spend vacations in the Emirates is increasing," the Ambassador said.


Quality of interaction


The level of bilateral relations between Russia and the UAE has advanced greatly recently and now covers almost all areas of cooperation. "We assess our relations as being in a state of dynamic growth, and now they have reached an advanced stage. Our interaction began practically since the founding of the UAE and has further strengthened since the opening of embassies in the two countries. The bilateral relationship has reached the level of strategic partnership, especially after the signing of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership between our countries in June 2018," the diplomat said. - "This declaration, in addition to other bilateral agreements, has become a solid foundation for cooperation. Today it has become comprehensive and covers almost all areas: investment, trade, industry, space, high technology, defense, medicine, tourism, culture, sports and other areas."


According to him, the UAE is also working with Russian partners to unlock potential in other areas for the benefit of both countries.


Intergovernmental Commission Meeting


The exact date of the Russia-UAE joint intergovernmental commission meeting on trade, economic and technical cooperation has not yet been set, but the event will definitely take place this year. "The 10th meeting of the intergovernmental commission is planned for this year. The date has not yet been set," the diplomat said when asked about the time of the next meeting.


Earlier, the Ambassador said that the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission may be held in October in Dubai during the Expo.


UAE Economy Minister Abdullah bin Touk al-Mari in an interview with TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum said that during the meeting economic recovery after the pandemic, cooperation on space and high technology will be discussed.
