Putin is satisfied with strengthening of cooperation between Russia and APR countries within BRICS, SCO and APEC

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed satisfaction with the development of Russia's bilateral ties with Asia-Pacific countries, as well as cooperation in the format of interaction with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), BRICS, APEC and ASEAN.


"We note with satisfaction how direct bilateral cooperation of Asia-Pacific states is strengthening and gaining momentum, as well as their cooperation within such influential associations as the EEU, SCO, BRICS, APEC and ASEAN. Russia is ready to continue making efforts together with all interested partners to improve regional cooperation in various formats," Putin assured in his greeting speech for the opening of the 7th Eastern Economic Forum published on the Kremlin website on Monday.


The president noted that commercial contracts and long-term agreements involving business circles and regional authorities would be concluded at the upcoming forum in Vladivostok. In his opinion, the EEF has a high international standing, makes a significant contribution to building business ties between Russia and Asia-Pacific countries, actively promotes investment flows and technological innovation, and more fully unlocks the rich economic and social potential of the Russian Far East. "I wish you successful, fruitful work and all the best," Putin said.


The VII Eastern Economic Forum will be held on September 5-8, 2022, in Vladivostok.
