Relations between the UAE and Russia will continue to develop steadily for the benefit of the people of the two countries. The statement was made by UAE Ambassador in Moscow Mohammed Ahmed Al-Jaber at a reception marking the 50th anniversary of the UAE and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates and Russia.
"I am confident that our relations will continue their progressive development for the benefit of our friendly countries and peoples," the diplomat said.
He congratulated the Russians on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and expressed gratitude to the Russian Foreign Ministry "for the fruitful and active cooperation for the development" of bilateral relations.
According to the ambassador, over the past half century, the relations between the two countries have seen a qualitative leap, which, under the watchful eyes of the leaders of the two countries, has brought the interaction between the UAE and Russia to a higher level.

The diplomat recalled that the UAE is currently hosting a grand event on a grand scale - Expo 2020. "On this occasion, I would like to commend the active participation of the Russian Federation. The Russian pavilion is one of the large ones at the exhibition, with events showcasing Russia's achievements in various fields, including creativity, innovation and technology," Al-Jaber noted. - "Our countries express their mutual desire to expand bilateral economic cooperation in the coming period, which will cover 12 different promising areas".
The diplomat also noted the interaction of the UAE and Russia in addressing global issues, in strengthening dialogue on regional and international issues and multilateral cooperation within the framework of regional and international organizations.
On December 2, 2021, the United Arab Emirates will celebrate the golden anniversary of the founding of the country in 1971. Diplomatic relations between the two states were established on December 8, 1971.
