25 April 2019

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is interested in expanding cooperation with Tatarstan and other regions of Russia. This is stated in the message of the OIC Secretary General Yusef al-Othaimeen, who, speaking at the plenary meeting of the International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit", was read out by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation at the organization of Ramazan Abdulatipov.

“The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other OIC institutions will continue to work closely with the Republic of Tatarstan and other subjects of the Russian Federation in order to strengthen close cultural and commercial ties between the peoples of the Russian Federation and the Muslim world,” as stated in the report.

KazanSummit, as Al-Othaimeen has emphasized, “always provides OIC member states with a unique opportunity to strengthen close trade and cultural relations between the Muslim mind and the fraternal peoples of the Russian Federation”.
