Delegation from Saudi Arabia visited the Moscow Cathedral mosque

The Saudi delegation headed by the Director of the Department for Interaction with Islamic organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the KSA, Muhammad al-Shammari, visited the residence of the Moscow Cathedral mosque.


According to the press service of the Russian Muftis Council, Saudi guests visited the Russian capital at the invitation of the Group of strategic vision "Russia-Islamic world".


The meeting was attended by Rushan Hazrat Abbyasov, First Deputy Chairman of the RMC and Ildar Galeev, head of the International Department, and others.


Abbyasov recalled that Muslims in Russia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been interacting for many years.


Speaking about the Group of strategic vision "Russia — Islamic world", he noted that in recent years it has become not only an authoritative platform for discussing the most pressing issues of the Muslim Ummah, but also a permanent body that analyzes global challenges of our time. He also stressed that cooperation with the KSA in social, humanitarian, cultural and other areas has been and remains a priority for Russian Muslims' international activities.


Muhammad al-Shammari, in turn, noted that the Russian Muftis Council and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation have a serious international authority, and the Saudi government welcomes the deepening and expansion of cooperation in the cultural and religious spheres.
