The so-called “deal of the century” on a Palestinian Israeli settlement, which is now being prepared by the US Administration, is waiting for failure. This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon Gebran Bassil.
According to him, the document is “stillborn”, because, as the diplomat noted, the aspirations of the Palestinians are unlikely to be taken into account. It is worth noting that the statement was made by the head of the Lebanese Foreign Ministry on the eve of the meeting with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who will arrive in Beirut in the coming days as part of his Middle Eastern tour.
Recall that the details of the “deal of the century”, which the United States has been announcing for more than a year, are still unknown. The American side promises to publish the document after April 9th, when parliamentary elections will be held in Israel.
