Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov believes that the introduction of us state Department'S sanctions against the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and members of his family is unfriendly actions.
"You know that these restrictions were imposed not only on Kadyrov himself, but also on members of his family, which, of course, is very difficult to explain, which in itself is extremely unfriendly actions," Peskov said. "Naturally, this provokes opposition from the head of one of the Russian regions," he added, commenting on the statement of the head of Chechnya that he prohibits US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo from entering the region.
The US State Department on July 20 announced the introduction of visa sanctions against Kadyrov, they also are applied to his wife and daughters.
Peskov: Kadyrov's assignment of the rank of Major General is not related to US sanctions
The head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov in the fight against the terrorist threat has repeatedly shown effectiveness, personally coordinating the actions of security forces. This is why he was awarded the rank of Major General of the Russian Guard, said presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov stressed that this has nothing to do with US sanctions against Kadyrov and is not a support measure. "No, this has nothing to do with US sanctions. Kadyrov in general, against the background of any American illegal sanctions, is quite able to stand up for himself," he stressed.
Speaking about awarding the head of Chechnya the rank of Major General of the Russian Guard, Peskov noted that the head of the region in the course of operations to combat terrorism personally coordinates the actions of security forces, including employees of this security Agency. The decree on awarding Kadyrov the title was not published. The head of Chechnya himself announced this on his Vkontakte page on Thursday. He also added that he was transferred from the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to Rosgvardiya.
