Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has warned that rising tensions between the United States and Iran could escalate into a third world war.
“We’re living in a time of global instability, caught in the middle of a dangerous power struggle for dominance — one that could very well lead to World War III. I’m not exaggerating,” he said in an interview published on the Kompas YouTube channel. “America is ready to attack Iran, and Russia has made it clear: ‘If you attack Iran, you’ll be facing us too.’”
Subianto pointed out that while Indonesia’s neutral stance — staying out of military alliances — is logical, it wouldn’t protect the country in a global conflict involving nuclear weapons. He urged the international community to come together and face today’s global threats collectively.
