Russian Muslims take part in the OSCE annual Meeting

Warsaw is hosting the annual meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe to review the implementation of human dimension commitments.

 

 


It is planned that its participants will sum up the implementation of OSCE commitments in the human dimension, discuss related problems, share experiences and make recommendations for improving the situation.

 

 


Special attention will be paid to such topics as democracy at the national, regional and local levels, freedom of thought, conscience, religion and belief, the protection of human rights and the fight against terrorism, etc.

 

 


Russian Muslims also participate as experts. The mufti of Tatarstan, a member of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia-Islamic World" Kamil hazrat Samigullin will act as a moderator at the side event on the theme "In search of balance: religion and secularization in the modern world".

 

 


The side event will also be attended by the Mufti of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Chuvash Republic Albir hazrat Krganov, representative of the Interreligious Council of Russia and the Moscow Patriarchate  Sergey Melnik, representative of the Union of Evangelical Christians of Russia (Pentecostals) in the North-West Federal district Bishop Dmitry Shatrov, as well as other religious, state and public figures and scholars.
