The UAE will help four more regions of the North Caucasus in the fight against the coronavirus

The authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have decided to send humanitarian aid to Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia to combat the spread of a new coronavirus infection the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced on "Vkontakte" following a telephone conversation with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan.


"The crown Prince was interested in the situation in other regions of the North Caucasus and whether they need assistance. I replied that if the Sheikh had the opportunity to provide support, any assistance in the fight against the pandemic would be helpful. Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan immediately decided to provide humanitarian assistance to Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia. The Sheikh asked me to coordinate work in this direction, " Kadyrov wrote.


Earlier, the UAE authorities sent aid to Chechnya and Dagestan: each region received kits that include anti-plague coveralls, personal protective equipment and tests for the coronavirus. An agreement on assistance was also reached during a telephone conversation between the head of Chechnya and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.


According to the latest data, in the regions of the North Caucasus, more than 19 thousand residents were infected with the coronavirus, and the number of cases of infection increased by 456 per day. A total of 512 people died, 12,754 recovered and were discharged from medical institutions.


In North Ossetia, 3,241 cases were registered, 2,686 people were discharged, and 58 died. In Karachay-Cherkessia, there are only 1,430 cases of infection, 399 people recovered, and seven died. In Kabardino-Balkaria, 3,199 confirmed cases of the infection were registered, 1,502 patients recovered, and 29 died. In Ingushetia, 2,268 people were infected, 123 recovered, and 61 deaths were recorded.


Today it became known that the regional public Fund named after Akhmat-Hadji Kadyrov provided food assistance to poor families from 11 Dagestani villages who were isolated due to the pandemic. This was also reported by the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov on his page in the VK.


"With the assistance of the "Auh" public council 500 poor large families from 11 villages of Novolaksky and Kazbekov districts of Dagestan received food packages consisting of basic necessities - 5 kg of flour, 5 kg of sugar, 3 kg of rice, 2 kg of pasta and sunflower oil. Residents of these localities in connection with the coronavirus pandemic have lost the opportunity to leave the isolation zone," he wrote.

 

The public fund handed over medicines, as well as medical and protective equipments worth more than 2 million rubles to hospitals in Dagestan. In addition, as a result of an agreement between the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov and the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, a special flight from the UAE delivered personal protective equipment and disinfection, as well as 25 thousand tests for the coronavirus to Dagestan last week.

 

According to the latest data, in Dagestan, there are 5,858 confirmed positive results of coronavirus disease, 4,562 people recovered. 303 people with the confirmed coronavirus died.

 

Since March 31, the Republic has imposed a regime of self-isolation. Residents are advised not to leave their homes unless absolutely necessary. The operating staff calls on residents to observe a social distance of 1.5 m. In most cities and districts of Dagestan, there is a mask regime.
