Russia calls on SCO countries to join Russian financial messaging system

Russia calls on its partners in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to join the Russian system of financial messages, which will allow uninterrupted operation of payments between banks of the SCO member states, Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said on Tuesday.


"To ensure uninterrupted work between banks, we offer participants of the organization to join the Russian system of financial messaging," Reshetnikov said in his online speech to the participants of the second SCO economic forum that opened in Tashkent.


According to the program, the participants of the SCO Economic Forum will discuss priority areas of trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as develop specific recommendations for ensuring sustainable development and increasing the potential of economic sectors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.


The organizers have earlier reported that the event is attended by heads of state bodies, ministries responsible for foreign economic activities, as well as representatives of international organizations. The Russian delegation at the forum includes representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, the RSPP, Skolkovo Innovation Center and Sberbank.
