The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has ordered and is expecting deliveries of 30 Aurus armored cars to be used for transportation of high-ranking guests, UAE ambassador to Russia Mohammed Ahmed al-Jaber told TASS on Monday after the launch ceremony of the Aurus plant.
"Yes, we are buying - 30 units for the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, they will be used for high-ranking guests," he said, noting that it was the first batch of armored cars.
On May 31, the serial production of Russian luxury cars Aurus Senat began at the plant Ford Sollers in Elabuga in Tatarstan. The minimum price for Aurus Senat will be 18 million rubles. The capacity of the plant is designed to produce up to 5 thousand cars per year.
Aurus is the first Russian brand of premium cars, created from scratch by the specialists of NAMI. Special versions of Aurus cars are used in the garage of the FSO to organize the trips of the Prime Minister and the President of the Russian Federation. The shareholders of Aurus are FSUE "NAMI" (63,5%), the Defense, Security and Development Fund of the UAE Tawazun (36%) and Sollers (0,5%).
