International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi will attend next week's ceremony for the reactor pressure vessel installation at Egypt's El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev announced following their meeting in Kaliningrad.
The reactor vessel for Unit 1 of the El-Dabaa NPP has already been delivered to the construction site, Rosatom's press service confirmed earlier. Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu subsequently noted that Russia anticipates the successful installation scheduled for November 19.
"We also discussed our cooperation at other Rosatom international projects, primarily the upcoming event at the El-Dabaa station in Egypt," Likhachev stated. "A major ceremonial event is planned in Egypt next Wednesday, which the IAEA Director General will attend in an agreed format."
The meeting also covered the implementation of nuclear power projects in Turkey and Bangladesh.
