Iran's Supreme Leader Accuses US of Initiating Ukraine Conflict

28 November

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has sharply criticized Washington, asserting that the United States "provoked the conflict in Ukraine."

"The current American president claimed he would resolve the Ukraine conflict within three days," Khamenei stated in remarks broadcast by Al Arabiya. He added that nearly a year later, the US is presenting a 28-point plan "to the very country it dragged into the conflict."

The US-proposed 28-point peace plan for Ukraine has faced opposition from Kyiv and its European partners, who have sought significant modifications. Following November 23 consultations in Geneva between US and Ukrainian officials, the proposal was reportedly condensed from 28 to 22 points.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, when questioned about the Trump administration's plan, indicated that the US proposals "could potentially form the basis" for future agreements.
