Mishustin: Russia Seeks Stronger Ties with Iran

17 November

Russia is committed to strengthening its relations with Iran, founded on principles of friendship and good neighborliness, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated during his meeting with First Vice President of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref.

"We advocate for enhancing Russia-Iran relations, which are based on friendship, good neighborliness, mutual respect, and consideration of each other's interests," the Russian prime minister stated, extending greetings and best wishes to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Mishustin noted that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement signed by the two countries' presidents entered into force in October. He emphasized that both governments must now ensure the implementation of decisions made at the highest level.

The prime minister highlighted the successful development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, pointing to the implementation of the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Iran this May. He expressed confidence that the agreement's execution will increase trade volume and diversify the structure of mutual trade.
