The Council of Heads of Government of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states will convene in Moscow on November 17-18 under the chairmanship of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
According to the government press service, the meeting will focus on strengthening trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation within the SCO. The prime minister is also scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with visiting delegation leaders.
This session will mark the conclusion of Russia's 2024-2025 chairmanship of the SCO Heads of Government Council. Participants will discuss measures for comprehensively implementing the SCO Development Strategy until 2035, with particular emphasis on expanding ties in digital economy, energy, green industry, artificial intelligence, science, innovation, education, culture, tourism, healthcare, sports, and youth exchanges.
The meeting will include not only SCO member states but also high-level representatives from dialogue partners, observer states, interested countries, and executive bodies of international organizations including the CIS, EAEU, Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, and Asia Cooperation Dialogue.
The outcomes will be reflected in a joint communiqué, while a separate statement will outline the organization's consolidated position on maintaining an open, fair, and equitable multilateral trading system and address the current economic situation globally and within the SCO region.
Throughout its chairmanship, Russia has prioritized enhancing the scope and quality of trade and economic cooperation within the organization.
