Strengthening the authority and influence of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a shared goal for all member states, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during a meeting with SCO heads of government at the Kremlin.
"We all share a common goal: to enhance the authority and influence of the SCO as one of the largest regional associations on the Eurasian continent and in the world as a whole," Putin stated. "Governments naturally play a special role in establishing concrete, practical work and in expanding multifaceted cooperation among member states of the organization."
The Russian leader highlighted the successful holding of the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting, noting that participants "have outlined plans for further joint activities, including in line with the Tianjin Declaration adopted at the September SCO summit in China and the SCO Development Strategy until 2035."
Putin recalled that during Russia's chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of Government this year, approximately 30 ministerial meetings, expert consultations, and forums involving business, public circles, and youth were held productively in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other major Russian cities, resulting in numerous mutually beneficial projects and cooperation programs being coordinated.
"The focus of governments' priority attention traditionally remains on economic cooperation, trade development, and investment diversification. Coordinated efforts in these areas yield tangible results," he concluded.
