Fursenko: Russia and Iran Are Determined to Preserve Their Civilizations

03 December

Russia and Iran are united by a firm conviction in the necessity to preserve themselves as civilizations, stated Presidential Aide Andrey Fursenko while speaking at the Russian-Iranian Scientific Conference.

“Today, many things unite us — not only respect for our roots but also a firm belief that we must preserve ourselves as civilizations, as independent nations. As countries that can, relying on our own strength and the strength of our partners and colleagues, ensure independent, sovereign, and sufficiently successful advancement into our future,” said Fursenko.

The conference is being held at the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH). Fursenko told journalists that such a conference helps the sides understand each other and fosters cooperation, particularly in such fundamental areas as a shared understanding of history and the traditional values of both countries, which in turn strengthens bilateral relations. “Because only through understanding can we ensure stable cooperation,” he emphasized.
