Israeli forces opened fire on civilians taking part in a demonstration in support of Syrian unity in the southern province of Quneitra, the SANA news agency reports.
According to their information, Israeli soldiers prevented Syrians from returning to their settlement after participating in an event held in the city of Khan Arnabah. Local residents took to the streets for a demonstration marking the first anniversary of the start of the armed operation that led to the regime change in Damascus on December 8, 2024, and to express protest against Israeli attacks.
On Friday, after Friday prayers, thousands of Syrians gathered on the main squares of cities across the country to express support for Syria's unity and to protest against Israeli aggression. In particular, the demonstrators condemned the Israeli military strikes on the settlement of Beit Jann in the Damascus province of Syria, which claimed 13 lives.
