The North-Caucasus Federal University organized a STEM week for school students in Syria. The participants were 150 children studying Russian, the university's press center told reporters on Wednesday.
"The NCFU scientists and professors conduct interactive and game-based classes according to the programs "Fascinating World of Applied Physics", "Fascinating World of Mathematics", "Virtual Worlds" for 150 high school students from Damascus, Homs and Latakia. The training course is held for high school students studying the Russian language," the report says.
The aim of the scientists is to popularize Russian education and stimulate schoolchildren's interest in studying science disciplines in Russian. "In Syria, we implement projects with academic partners in cooperation with Rossotrudnichestvo. Today the "Russian Week of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science" starts. I would like to note that the classes arouse high interest among schoolchildren," the press service quotes Rector Dmitry Bespalov as saying.
Academic partners of the North-Caucasus Federal University in Syria are Al-Baath University, Al-Hawash University and the University of Damascus. In the summer of 2022, students of this country became participants in the program "Summer University", in the autumn the university held a series of events in Damascus in the format of "Literary Cafe" and the youth Russian-Syrian forum.
