The All-Russian Forum of Muslim Youth will be held this year in Bolgar from 23 to 31 July. It will be timed to the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria.


The ‘1100th Anniversary’ forum will take place in Bolgar, the landmark site where the Volga Bulgarians officially converted to Islam 1100 years ago. The tent city will be located next to the White Mosque, the Bolgarian Museum Reserve.

The organizers of the Forum, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan, express their hope that this congress of Muslim youth will become an impetus for the creation and implementation of new social projects aimed at developing the Muslim Ummah of the country.


The week-long event will be attended by Muslim men and women aged 18-30 who are ready to present their social start-up, no matter what stage the project is at.

The Forum will focus on projects aimed at charity, education and the development of halal industry. The congress participants will exchange their views and experience and will gain knowledge from guest speakers. Training sessions and workshops, TEDs and debates, quests, a cinema hall and a book club, hikes and excursions are expected.


The Forum website also noted that this event is for those who ‘are eager to improve their iman and learn how to package a socially relevant project’.

Speakers at the Forum include Sheikh Hamdellah Hafiz Ibrahim, Doctor of Pedagogic Science, Head of the Department of Education and Science at Al-Azhar University Alumni League, leading expert on Islamic law and doctrine (Cairo, Egypt); he will be in charge of a religious section; Alfiya Zabbarova, PhD in Economics, business trainer at Ak Bars Bank Corporate University, soft skills development coach at Talent University and Anton Dyganov, Deputy Head of the Centre for Social Innovation of the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan, expert of Resource Centre for Support, Head of the Innovative Development Department at the Kazan Federal University will arrange workshops and project defense, while Marat Salakhov, specialist in Islamic history in Russia will tell about the Bolgarian Museum Reserve and conduct a night excursion around the hill fort.


Staff of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan occasionally organizes ZOOM conferences, where they speak about the Forum program and explain how to take part in this event.
