Turkey Open to Arranging Visits of Popular Actors to Russia Amid Expanding Film Cooperation

16 April

Turkey is ready to facilitate the visit of any Turkish actor to Russia as part of growing cultural and cinematic cooperation between the two countries,  Abdurrahman Aliy, head of the Yunus Emre Institute (Turkish Cultural Center), tols TASS.

"We’ve been discussing ways to deepen collaboration in the film industry. I’ve instructed our team to explore this area in detail, as we see cinema as a powerful tool for promoting our country on the global stage," Aliy said. "It’s hard to say who exactly might come at this point, but if the Russian side has preferences for specific stars from Turkish series, they are welcome to share those with us."

He emphasized the impact cultural figures can have, calling actors "ambassadors of our nation" who help build stronger cultural bridges.

Previously, Turkish actor Burak Özçivit—known for roles in Magnificent Century, Bittersoet, and Establishment: Osman—visited Russia to star in I'm Here to Stay (Ya k Tebe Nadolgo), the first Russian TV series to feature him in a leading role.
