The Chechen State Pedagogical University (CSPU) has completed the translation of classic Russian literary works and traditional folk tales into Arabic. Approximately 40,000 copies of these translated editions will be distributed to libraries and universities throughout the Middle East, CSPU Rector Ismail Baikhanov said during a press conference at the TASS Caucasus regional information center.
Works by iconic authors such as Ivan Bunin and Leo Tolstoy, alongside a unique collection of Russian folk tales, have been selected for this initiative. Rector Baikhanov noted that a portion of the collection has already been delivered to the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, while the remaining volumes will be allocated to partner countries. These materials are being provided by the Russian state free of charge.
The university plans to hold formal book presentations across the Middle East throughout 2026. This distribution effort is part of a broader international program scheduled for the year, which includes the hosting of Russian Language and Literature Days in several regional capitals.
