Dagestan to Allocate 50 Million Rubles to Support Scientific Research

20 September

Approximately 50 million rubles will be allocated to support scientific research in Dagestan in 2024. The funds will come from the regional government’s budget and the Russian Science Foundation (RSF), as announced by RSF Deputy Director General Andrey Blinov in an interview with TASS on the margins  of the 4th Congress of Young Scientists.

"In the past 2-3 years, we’ve seen an increase in the number of supported projects in Dagestan. I believe that with the launch of a regional competition in collaboration with the Dagestan government, the number of applications and projects will grow. <...> This year, we signed an agreement with the government of Dagestan. Each side is contributing 25 million rubles, making a total of up to 50 million rubles. This year we’re selecting the projects, and next year we’ll begin funding them. This is a great boost for the scientists," said Blinov.

He added that the projects would focus on addressing regional issues.

The side event at the 4th Congress of Young Scientists is being held in Dagestan from September 18-20. During the event, experts from various regions of Russia, together with Dagestani researchers, will work on projects and propose practical solutions for the development of key sectors in the region's economy.
