MGIMO to Host Third International Forum "Russia-Africa: What's Next?"

The opening ceremony of the third international forum "Russia-Africa: What's Next?" will take place on Wednesday at MGIMO.


High-ranking representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry are expected to greet the guests and participants of the forum, including  Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov. Also MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov and Russian Presidential Aide Andrei Fursenko will deliver welcoming speeches.


The main topics of the forum include combating fake news, developing academic tourism, state support for youth projects, and promoting youth entrepreneurship. Participants will discuss Russia's cooperation with the African continent in areas such as natural resource utilization, partnership within the BRICS framework, and other issues. Mikhail Gusman, the First Deputy Director-General of TASS, will participate in the discussion "Media Bridge between Russia and Africa."


A sports day was held on the eve of the opening, and on Wednesday, several round tables and discussions will take place, attended by political figures from Russia and Africa, representatives of the scientific community, diplomats, and entrepreneurs. Additionally, the opening of the exhibition "African Art," showcasing traditional art of African peoples, is planned.


The event will continue until April 26.


The forum was established as a platform for discussion to strengthen the dialogue between Russian and African youth, facilitating the exchange of opinions among student communities on current issues affecting relations between Russia and African countries.
