Russia is sharing its educational experience and expertise with other nations, but without imposing its model, said Yevgeny Primakov, head of Rossotrudnichestvo, at the 3rd International Forum of Education Ministers “Shaping the Future” held in Kazan.
“Today, many countries—especially those of the Global South—are seeking real, not symbolic, independence. We offer a solid foundation for national sovereignty: national schooling systems, teacher training, methodologies, textbooks tailored to local cultures, languages, and traditions,” Primakov said.
He emphasized that Russia does not pressure other nations to adopt its approach but offers it as a choice to friendly countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and beyond. “We share our experience in setting up schools in remote regions, organizing academic competitions and clubs, implementing early vocational training, establishing technical colleges and strong humanities education, and integrating cultural and historical heritage into curricula. This is a time-tested path—proven by us,” he noted.
Primakov also stressed that education systems should not be shaped by short-term political goals, but built to last for generations. “We’re not offering dependence—we’re offering sovereignty. We’re not imposing—we’re opening doors. It’s your choice, dear colleagues, to defend your independence and chart your own path to progress and prosperity through education. That’s exactly what our forum is about—shaping the future,” he added.
The 3rd International Forum of Education Ministers “Shaping the Future” is taking place in Kazan from June 11–12, 2025. Participants are addressing major challenges in global education, including values, upbringing, quality assessment, and access. The forum serves as a key platform for international dialogue and knowledge exchange in the field of education.
