On February 6, Russian President Vladimir Putin will present science and innovation awards to young scientists and hold a Science and Education Council meeting via video link, according to the Kremlin's press service.
The council meeting will focus on “ensuring priority areas of scientific and technological development with engineering personnel.”
The young scientists’ awards, based on achievements in 2024, will be presented to:
Dr. Natalia Cherkashina (Doctor of Technical Sciences) for her work on radiation-shielding composites for space applications.
Vadim Popkov and Kirill Martinson (Candidates of Chemical Sciences) for developing and implementing technologies to produce multicomponent ferrites and creating ceramic materials based on them.
Dr. Elena Korochkina (Doctor of Veterinary Sciences) for her innovative methods to enhance genetic and reproductive potential in livestock breeding.
The Presidential Award for young scientists, established in 2008, honors contributions to science or the development of advanced technologies and new equipment. These achievements aim to accelerate economic and social development while strengthening national defense capabilities.
