Russian Schoolchildren to Participate in Eight International Olympiads Across Six Countries in 2024

Russian schoolchildren will participate in eight major international Olympiads in various general education subjects scheduled to take place across six countries in 2024. The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation announced that training camps will be organized for the teams at leading Russian universities, schools, and educational centers.

 

In July, the International Olympiad in mathematics is scheduled to be held in Great Britain, while the Chemistry Olympiad will take place in Saudi Arabia. The Biology Olympiad is set for Kazakhstan, and the Physics Olympiad will be hosted in Iran.

 

"In June, the Russian team will participate in the European Geographical Olympiad in Serbia (Belgrade). In September, they will participate in the Open International Astronomy Olympiad hosted at the Russian educational center 'Sirius,' and in the Olympiad in Informatics in Egypt," the Ministry of Education reported.

 

The 2024 season will conclude with the International Junior Science Olympiad. Additionally, Russian national teams will participate in other Olympiads held in various countries, utilizing both face-to-face and online formats, as mentioned by the ministry.

 

In 2023, Russian schoolchildren won a total of 43 medals in eight international Olympiads, comprising 34 gold, eight silver, and one bronze.
