Presidents of Russia and Indonesia, Vladimir Putin and Prabowo Subianto, are both committed to maintaining political dialogue and developing high-level contacts between their countries, Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Sergey Tolchenov told TASS.
“Political dialogue between our nations forms a crucial component of interstate relations. I'm pleased to note it's progressing steadily,” the diplomat remarked. “This year saw Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's official visit to Russia, and there's general agreement that high-level contacts will continue developing. While I wouldn't specify exact timelines now, both leaders clearly value this communication.”
The ambassador noted that since Subianto has visited Russia, a reciprocal visit by the Russian leader to Indonesia could logically follow. Putin last visited the republic in 2007.
“Contacts will continue, potentially even on multilateral forums' sidelines, though such meetings require thorough preparation,” Tolchenov added. “Undoubtedly, when such arrangements are finalized, we will inform the media accordingly.”
