Emergency Arab Summit on Israeli Attack to Be Held September 14-15 in Doha

11 September

An emergency summit of leaders from Arab and Islamic countries will take place in the Qatari capital on September 14-15 in response to the Israeli strike targeting the leadership of the Palestinian Hamas movement in Doha. This was announced in a press release by the Qatar News Agency for accredited journalists in the country.

The summit, organized to discuss Israel’s attack on Qatar, will be held at the Sheraton hotel. On Sunday, September 14, a preparatory meeting at the level of foreign ministers is scheduled. The agency did not specify which leaders will attend the event.

On September 9, a series of explosions occurred in Doha. Shortly after, the Israeli military press service announced that, supported by the General Security Service and with air force involvement, strikes had been made against Hamas representatives. Majid bin Mohammed Al-Ansari, adviser to the Qatari prime minister and official spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, confirmed Israel’s responsibility for the attack.

According to Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, one security officer was killed and several others were injured. The ministry stressed that the situation in Doha remains safe.

Meanwhile, Hamas denied media reports of the deaths of members of its negotiating delegation but acknowledged that six people died in the attack, including the son of one of its leaders in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Hayya, and a Qatari security officer. According to Al Jazeera, members of Hamas’s political bureau were attacked during a meeting discussing the US proposal for resolving the Gaza conflict.
