Gaza Urges Islamic Countries to Condemn Israel's Plans to Displace Palestinians

11 January

Authorities in the Gaza Strip have appealed to Arab and Islamic countries to condemn Israel's intentions to forcibly displace Palestinians from the enclave.

"We call on Arab and Islamic countries, the free world, to condemn [Israel's] plans to displace [Palestinians]," stated the Gaza government's information office in a release quoted by Al Jazeera.

"The occupier [Israel] is using genocide, starvation, and destruction of property to displace our people," - added the Gaza authorities. = "All the plans the occupier is hatching with its agents and allies to displace our people will not succeed.

"We call on the international community and the US to exert pressure to stop the genocidal war against our people," emphasized the statement.

The situation in the Middle East sharply escalated after the infiltration of Palestinian Hamas fighters from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7, 2023. The movement members called the attack a response to the Israeli authorities' actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Israel has declared a complete blockade of Gaza and launched retaliatory strikes on the enclave and parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
